Luca Ciarlini
Luca, based in Italy, has worked for 30 years in senior managerial positions in air transport. He was the VP, Network and Commercial Agreements, and then Chief Operations Officer, (COO), for Alitalia and a key manager in the AZ/KL Joint Venture, thus, he managed all the key levers of a large airline. He was responsible for designing the (FCO/MXP) twin-hub system, which was the base for the alliance with KLM. In his operations career, he designed a totally new OCC, from building restructuring to new procedures design and people team build-up. This took the carrier quality indicators in the top 5 tier EU carriers.
He then moved into the handling sector as Managing Director for Flightcare, Italy, after the acquisition of Aeroporti di Roma handling, and later in Aviapartner, Italy. He restructured the former AdR company, facing competition of seven handlers he grew market share in FCO to become market leader and opened successful operations in CTA and PMO airports. He was also MD of a regional Italian airport, acquiring competencies in the airport sector managing the certification with new EU regulatory standards and managed a 33 mil€ infrastructure development plan. Alongside the executive experiences he has, since 2006, advised on several airline and airport projects in Europe, ME, and Asia.
